DEMBA BA is bracing himself for a red-hot reception on his return to Newcastle today. Ba angered the Toon Army by snubbing a new deal and pushing for a move to Chelsea. Now the Senegal hitman faces his former team-mates for the first time since Blues triggered his £7.5million buy-out clause. And Chelsea boss Rafa Benitez insists Ba, 27, is well aware some disgruntled Magpies supporters will make their feelings known. Benitez said: “He is quite confident he can do well if he plays. “He has trained well and he is a professional. “He knows some fans will not be happy but some will understand so he is ready to do his best for the team.”
